The Broadhead Pathway is a structured programme designed to help SME leadership teams win major contracts by positioning and preparing them 6-12 months ahead of award.
Major contracts are rarely won at tender stage itself. They are won in the months leading up to procurement by the organisations best prepared before the RFP is released.
The Pathway ensures you and your team are strategically positioned, commercially prepared, and actively engaged before procurement begins, enabling you to compete credibly against much larger organisations.
The programme is designed to work alongside your day-to-day operations. It builds capability, creates focus, and drives disciplined execution without disrupting your core business.
Who It Is For
The Pathway is designed for SME owners, directors, and leadership teams who are serious about scaling their business through major wins.
It is most effective where:
•
Access exists to major growth opportunities within your region
•
You have an operational base and delivery capability
•
You will commit leadership time and internal resources
•
Construction
Engineering
Transportation
Logistics
FM
Catering
Medical
Security
Environmental
Services
Equipment
Rental
Industrial
Utilities
Programme Structure
The Pathway is structured across four stages that build on each other towards the award of the contract:
You identify priority projects, define your target clients, and position your organisation as a credible delivery partner. You engage early, build visibility, secure prequalification, and develop a clear, project-specific competitive strategy.
You move beyond generic capability into project-specific solutions. Through client engagement, needs analysis, and site-level insight, you define scope, understand decision dynamics, build your partnership ecosystem, and develop a differentiated value proposition supported by a structured commercial approach.
You convert your solution into a competitive bid. You establish a disciplined bid structure, align your team, develop high-quality technical and commercial submissions, and define a clear price-to-win strategy – without compromising control of your pricing.
You actively manage the critical period between submission and award. You maintain client engagement, navigate clarifications and negotiations, counter competitive threats, and position your organisation to secure the contract and transition effectively into delivery.
